RICHARD ALARIE
Richard Alarie, M.A., R. Psych. is a psychologist with 26 years experience providing mental health interventions in public and private practice settings. He worked for 19 years with Alberta Health Services within the community mental health system as therapist, supervisor, and manager treating adult and geriatric populations. Mr. Alarie has 15 years experience in conducting psychological assessment in the areas of mental health, pain, and cognitive functioning. He works at Mandel & Associates providing psychological/disability assessments for government organizations as well as independent psychological and vocational examinations.
Mr. Alarie has developed a private therapy practice at Mandel & Associates where his focus on individual therapy involving adults and seniors is informed by cognitive-behavioural and solution-focused approaches specifically tailored to individuals with depression, anxiety, chronic pain, self-esteem, life transition, addiction issues, bipolar and psychotic disorders, as well as posttraumatic stress disorder among MVA survivors. He provides vocational counselling in the context of life and career transitions and is available for supervision and training of mental health professionals.
