Richard Alarie, M.A., R. Psych., is a psychologist who has worked with Alberta Health Services and in private practice for the past 18 years. Much of his clinical work experience is in the area of specialized mental health assessment and intervention in community clinic settings. He has worked in the field of adult and geriatric mental health in a variety of roles, including as a therapist, supervisor, and manager. An area of interest is the development of innovative community-based interventions to treat complex mental health populations, such as Assertive Community Treatment and Community Extension Team.

Mr. Alarie has significant experience in conducting psychological assessment in the areas of mental health and cognitive functioning. He works at Mandel & Associates providing psychological/disability assessments for government organizations such as Alberta Assured Income for Severely Handicapped, as well as independent psychological and vocational examinations. In addition to providing psychological assessments, Mr. Alarie maintains a private practice at Mandel & Associates where he provides cognitive-behavioural therapy to adults with a range of mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, bipolar and psychotic disorders.
