DR. ERIN SHUMLICH
Dr. Erin Shumlich is a registered psychologist who has accumulated a broad range of experience and expertise in the fields of psychotherapy and psychological assessment.
She has over six years of psychotherapy experience and has successfully treated adults with a broad range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, disordered eating, sleep problems, and interpersonal difficulties. In addition to general mental health expertise, Dr. Shumlich also specializes in health psychology, working with individuals to address mental health concerns that often come with chronic disease (e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular complications, chronic pain). Additionally, Dr. Shumlich has experience working with athletes to improve performance. Her approach to therapy is integrative, recognizing each individual’s unique needs and drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Interpersonal Therapy.
Dr. Shumlich completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Western University in London, Ontario, and did a one-year clinical psychology residency with Alberta Health Services. She has over six years’ combined experience conducting formal psychological assessments in forensic, school, in-patient, and out-patient settings. She has ten peer-reviewed publications, seven of which she first-authoured, and has made presentations at 20 national and international conferences, including the International Congress of Psychology and the American Psychology-Law Society.
