Referral inquiries are accepted via telephone, fax, e-mail or mail; however, all formal referrals must be made in writing. Clients will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis; however, every effort will be made to accommodate requests for expedited appointments. Scheduling of assessments is dependent upon individual psychologists' availability. Assessments are routinely carried out in Calgary, Edmonton, or Victoria; however, alternate locations can also be arranged.
Assessments can take from one to three days to complete depending upon the type of assessment(s) required. Typically these dates are consecutive, however, if a client has difficulty meeting the scheduling demands or has specific barriers, effort will be made to accommodate special needs. Prior to scheduling, clients should be apprised of time frames and informed that more appointments may be needed to complete the assessment, in order to avoid any misconceptions.
We request that, insofar as possible, relevant medical or other documentation be provided prior to the assessment. Generally, this includes information such as medical reports, employment-related information, and any school records or academic transcripts. As well, in order to meet referral source needs, it is important to inform us at the outset of any important time lines or deadline requirements for provision of final reports.
